Dr Sahitya Kamineni

Consultant Psychiatrist

MBBS, MRCPSych, FRANZCP

Dr Sahitya Kamineni completed her medical training in India in 2002. During her training in Psychiatry in the UK, she worked in a range of University and district general hospitals around East London, York and Manchester. She was awarded her Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK in 2007 and then her CCT in General Adult Psychiatry along with endorsements in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry in 2012. Dr Kamineni is a professional member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

Sahitya has extensive experience in medical leadership including workplace-based postgraduate medical education in Psychiatry. She worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in outpatient and inpatient settings in the UK until 2017. This variety of experience continued as she achieved her Australian fellowship in 2019 and moved to Rockhampton to work as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Central Queensland Public Mental Health Service.

Sahitya now provides consultation liaison psychiatry services and outpatient services with a particular interest in General Adult Psychiatry and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry including Perinatal Mental Health Disorders and Psycho-Oncology. She provides consultation liaison services and has admission rights to Ramsay Clinic at Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital.

Dr Elizabeth Mills

Consultant Psychiatrist

MBChB, MRCPsych, FRANZCP

Dr Mills trained in Medicine at the University of Leeds, UK and completed her medical training there in 1998. She undertook Psychiatry training in Queensland, New South Wales, North and West Yorkshire (UK) in both large teaching hospitals and small rural facilities in a wide variety of specialties.

She was awarded her Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK in 2006. After taking some time off to have children she completed her specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry with an Endorsement in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry in 2011. Dr Mills had previously worked in Central Queensland as a junior doctor in the early 2000s and after working in Neuropsychiatry for 22 months returned to Rockhampton with her family in 2012. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2015.

In addition to her role at CQ Mind Matters, Dr Mills has been a senior psychiatrist with the Central Queensland Mental health and Alcohol and other drugs Service since 2012 and is currently the senior psychiatrist with the Rockhampton Community Mental Health Team.

Dr Mills is passionate about delivering quality, evidence-based healthcare and excellent medical education. She has been a College examiner and is currently the Regional Chief Training Supervisor with The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. She was awarded a College prize for her contribution to the education of junior doctors in 2018. She is also a senior lecturer for the University of Queensland and has been involved in ongoing research projects with psychiatry trainees.

Special interests: Mood disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Eating disorders, Trauma and PTSD, Psychoses, Neuropsychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and ASD.
